Magnificent Medinilla is a perennial herb that grows
up to 3 m tall, with opposite, firm, leathery, ovate leaves, which grow
up to 20-30 cm long, with a short point. The flowers are borne in showy
panicles up to 50 cm long, with pink bracts. Individual flowers are up
to 2.5 cm in size, and are pink, red or violet. The fruits are violet,
fleshy berries, about 1 cm wide. In Philippines, Magnificent Medinilla
grows in the forks of large trees. Magnificent Medinilla is native to
Philippines, and is a popular garden plant now.
